Steve Camp - Director of Coaches Ministry (FCA Douglas County)
A lifelong metro Atlanta native, Steve graduated from South Cobb High School in 1981 then earned his Bachelors of Science from Jacksonville State University in 1986. While at JSU, Steve was a member of the men’s track team and a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was introduced to his wife, Melissa by the parents of the player on the first football team he coached in 1987. Over the past 27 years, Steve has coached football, soccer and track on the youth, Club and high school levels. He and Melissa have been married for 26 years and have two sons; Jacob is a coach and teacher at Alexander High School in Douglas County and TD is soon to become a National Rush Chair Rep for the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
After accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord & Personal Savior in 1971 as an 8 yr-old, Steve felt a call to the ministry in 1991. In January, 2005 he was re-interoduced to the FCA and knew immediately this was the ministry the Lord had been preparing him for for the past 15 years. Beginning as one of the charter Board members of the West Metro FCA then serving as a volunteer Team Chaplain at Chapel Hill High School, Steve then began serving as a Coaches Minister for FCA in 2010 on a volunteer basis. He came on Staff with the FCA in May, 2012 on a part-time basis serving as the Coaches Ministries Director of Douglas County.
